Turning Tourism Into Hope for Tanzanian Communities

We believe tourism can do more than show visitors Tanzania's beauty. It can help the children of Arusha get the healthcare they need and stay in school.

Who we are

A community initiative rooted in Tanzanian tourism

Hope of Dream operates under Lappet Faced Safaris, a safari company based in Arusha. It grew from a simple idea: the travellers who come to see Tanzania's wildlife and mountains can also help the children who live here.

We focus on the two things that shape a child's future more than almost anything else: good health and a good education. And we work close to home, in Sakina and the wider Arusha area.

Why tourism matters

Your trip can help a child stay in school

Tourism is one of Tanzania's most important industries, and Arusha is where most northern safaris and Kilimanjaro climbs begin. But the benefits do not always reach the families who live along the way. We want to change that, one trip at a time.

  1. You travel

Book a safari, Kilimanjaro climb or Zanzibar holiday with Lappet Faced Safaris.

  2. 10% is set aside

Lappet Faced Safaris gives 10% of every package to local communities.

  3. Children are supported

That money goes towards children's healthcare and schooling here in Arusha.
